Thanks to being part of the community since 1961, Capecare Busselton residents enjoy beachside living surrounded by beautiful established gardens.

We have grown steadily with the Busselton community, starting with a small hostel and now providing a thriving facility caring for more than 100 residents.

Our property also includes independent living, a Social Centre and Respite so there is plenty of
activity and support on hand.

Capecare staff live and work in the community so we are invested in providing the best possible
environment for our residents.

Each resident enjoys a private furnished room with ensuite, all meals, group activities, allied health support, gardens and courtyards, laundry services and beach access.

We have a dedicated Memory Support Unit in our recently refurbished Rosabrook wing, providing best practice design and furnishings and care for our residents living with dementia. Features include improved lighting, new beds and furnishings, cafe-style kitchen and dining space and spacious lounges and enclosed courtyard.

In detail:

  • Exceptional staff – A highly qualified team of nursing, lifestyle and allied health staff manage clinical needs; design individual programs; monitor physical and cognitive function; and deliver engaging social and recreational activities. Registered nurses and care staff are always on site. They live and work in the community so are invested in providing the best possible experience for residents.
  • Health and wellness – ailored individual and group programs provided by expert allied health professionals.
  • Dining – Our chefs provide a nutritious and tasty seasonal menu cooked fresh onsite and developed in consultation with residents. Medical, cultural, and religious dietary requirements are accommodated.
  • Lifestyle – Residents can join in games, arts and craft, fun exercise classes, plus enjoy regular community outings, pet and music therapy, quizzes, visiting entertainers, guided beach walks and gardening. Active and passive shared living rooms, courtyards and
    gardens provide a variety of spaces to enjoy.
  • Opportunities for independence -Residents are encouraged to perform daily life activities such as table setting, gardening, cooking and entertaining if they choose. We encourage participation in activities supporting and improving movement and function.
    Residents are encouraged to continue with their regular community outings such as going to church or social groups.
  • Services – including a hairdressing salon, village shop and plenty of spaces for meeting with family and friends.
  • Double room – catering for couples (subject to availability)

Yes, engaging group activities are arranged based on residents’ interests. We focus on helping residents
maintain their community and social involvement. Visits by community groups provide entertainment and
activities to complement our in-house program and we also arrange regular group social outings.

Yes. Our Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists work with residents and the Clinical Team to develop
care plans based on individual needs. Other services including speech pathology, podiatry, dietitian,
psychology, and mental health services are available by referral.

Yes. Capecare chefs provide modern, varied and nutritionally balanced meals. We work with residents to get
to know their needs and favourite meals, provide delicious fresh wholesome food and add special touches
wherever possible.

Yes, Capecare Dunsborough is a dementia-enabling residential facility. This means we have environmental design features which assist people with MCI or a dementia diagnosis to maintain independent daily living function.

Our on-site Allied Health Team also supports our residents in maintaining their independence.

We have a Memory Support Unit for those with higher dementia support requirements.

Capecare encourages residents to maintain their independence and they have the option to perform daily
living and domestic tasks of their choosing such as washing clothes, preparing light meals and gardening.

We have a couples room in Busselton which is larger and has two beds. It is however
subject to availability.

The complex also includes a Village Shop run by our wonderful volunteers, and a hair salon. There are active
and passive lounge areas, alfresco sitting areas, and direct beach access. A selection of books and DVDs are
available and we have a monthly library delivery. Religious services are held regularly for our residents and
family members are welcome to attend.

We are situated on a beautiful stretch of Geographe Bay beach, conveniently located west of Busselton near
the intersection of Caves Road and Bussell Highway so we are easily accessed from Dunsborough, Vasse,
Cowaramup and Busselton and approximately 2.5 hours’ drive (230km) south of Perth.
