About
Capecare Volunteers are welcomed and highly valued in the Capecare family. If you choose to be part of the Capecare Volunteer team you will be supported by our staff and experienced volunteers.
Capecare has a wonderful team of over 100 Volunteers who give their time and skills to help enrich the lives of our residents and Wellness Centre clients. This follows our philosophy of helping our residents to live better, and supports them in a range of activities, including:
- Wellness Centre Activities Assistant
- Bus Assistants
- Volunteer bus and car drivers
- Pet Therapy
- Social support, volunteers are matched with a resident with similar interests
- Helping to take residents to and from appointments to our on-site hairdresser and Allied Health team
- Village Shop
- Assisting at the Ray Café coffee shop
- Groups such as knitting, Art Chat, and crafts
- Music and entertainment
- Sharing special skills such as chess, mosaics, card making, woodworking
- Gardening and flower arranging
- Palliative Care Volunteer
- Escorts to medical appointments
- Assisting with activities such as swimming and exercise groups
How to Join
If you are 18 years of age or older and would like to apply to become a Capecare volunteer please use the contact form to send us your details.
Our Volunteer Coordinator will then contact you to arrange a short face to face meeting so that you can see the opportunities on offer and ask any questions you may have.
Successful volunteer applicants will be provided with Volunteer Induction Training and any additional training required for the particular role they will be undertaking.
