Position Title: Wellness Centre Support Worker (part-time)

Main Purpose of Position

 This role will have you actively engaging with our clients. You will be taking them out into the community to participate in activities and group outings once a week. Whilst at our Wellness Centre you will be actively engaging with the clients and assisting them with their daily needs. These tasks could be prompting the clients with feeding, toileting and social interaction. The Wellness Centre is designed to be able to provide support for our clients in the community but also to be able to provide respite for our clients Carers at home.

  • Observe and comply with all health and safety instructions, procedures, signs and notices relating to your work and correctly use the appropriate protective clothing and equipment supplied.
  • Follow Infection Prevention and Control procedures and standards relevant to the role.
  • Use correct documented procedures to correct, if possible, and immediately report any unsafe situations, near-miss incidents and all work related injuries.
  • Maintain good housekeeping at all times.

Education/Qualifications

Certificate III in Individual Support or similar qualification desirable.

Technical Competencies and Skills

  • Experience in planning and implementing group activities.
  • Great time management and communication skills.
  • HR Bus License desirable.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 1 years Aged Care experience.

Key Accountabilities of the Role

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and deliver Day Centre programs, services and activities.
  • Transporting clients to and from their home and the wellness centre.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate Day Centre Clients.
  • Care for the clients socially, emotionally and physically.
  • Promoting clients for daily living tasks.
  • Planning events for special occasions e.g. Christmas. Easter, Melbourne Cup Day etc.
  • Being aware of client’s needs and mobility.
