Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or similar and/or significant industry experience.
Current First Aid Certificate.
Technical Competencies and Skills
Current drivers licence.

Key Accountabilities of the Role
Undertake assigned duties as specified by the Scheduler Home Care at all times.
Assist clients with activities of daily living.
Assist clients with cleaning, food preparation, laundry and other domestic duties.
Carry out care according to the individual care plan as recorded in individual files.
Practice within skill and knowledge base.
Encourage clients to socialise and expand daily interests, and to make as many decisions as possible on their own.
Assist clients with shopping, appointments and transport.
Use standard precautions in the performance of all work to prevent transmission of infection.
Maintain regular contact with the Enrolled Nurse and Scheduler Home Care to give and receive relevant information.
Complete work in accordance with the roster and in consultation with Scheduler Home Care.
Message at the beginning of each service and end of each shift.
Message any cancelled services or absent clients.
Keep accurate and legible records of care provided and clients’ response to care.
Maintain accurate fee records and receipts of monies collected.
Maintain accurate record of daily kilometres travelled in log book.
The nature of the position requires the employee to be flexible and in addition to the specific duties detailed above undertake other duties applicable to the position as may be necessary, required and requested, provided such duties which are within their abilities and skills and where appropriate training has been provided.
