Community Care Costs
The fees and charges for Capecare’s Community Care vary from program to program and are evaluated according to each client’s personal means.
Home and Community Care (Including Day Respite)
Capecare clients receiving HACC services assessed as having capacity to pay may be charged fees. This should is done in accordance with a scale of fees appropriate to the clients level of income, amounts of services they use, and any changes in circumstances.
At Home Care Packages
- Community Aged Care Packages (CACP)
- Extended Aged Care at Home Packages (EACH)
- Extended Aged Care at Home Packages – Dementia (EACH-D)
Capecare clients receiving services through these programs can be asked to pay a fee. For a client receiving the aged pension, the maximum fee which can be charged is 17.5% of the basic rate of single pension.
Extended Aged Care at Home Packages are assessed similar to CACP. For a client receiving the aged pension, the maximum fee which can be charged is 17.5% of the basic rate of single pension.
People on higher incomes* may be asked to pay additional fees (limited to 50% of any income above the basic rate of single pension). Capecare must inform all clients of its fees policy. However, no one will be denied a service they need, based on an inability to pay fees.
Veterans Home Care (VHC)
Clients of Veterans Home Care will be asked to pay a small co-payment for any service provided through the program, except for respite care.
